and local hero Freddy B
Beloved U.S. Veteran, Musician, and local hero Fred Brown better known as “Freddy B”
has fallen on hard times. The former Café Nine bartender of nearly 18 years as well
as keyboardist for reggae bands I.N.I.T.Y and Gnostic Roots has been diagnosed with
cancer and is also facing eviction from his longtime East Rock residence. He’s always
been the type to lend a helping hand to those in need. Now it’s our turn to give back
and say “thank you” for all the music, love, generosity, and friendship he has shown us
throughout the years.
Free Spirit Entertainment, Christian Marrone, and Toad’s Place present: Friends of
Freddy B Benefit Concert” at Toad’s Place in New Haven, CT on Sunday June 3, 2012.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Show starts at 6:30. Tickets are $10 donation. Larger donations
accepted and encouraged. 100% of the proceeds go directly to aid Freddy in his recovery.
There will be amazing live music from local, national, and international talent of
genres including Rock, Blues, and Reggae.
Performers include Christian Marrone, Rocky Lawrence, Bowen Arrow, Fallopian Two,
Travis Moody Band, I.N.I.T.Y, Gnostic Roots, Mutti Lewis, Irie Feelings, Don Minott,
D.J. See Love, Mike Mills and Friends (featuring Burnice Mills, The Langley Project,
Cecelia Calloway- daughter of legendary icon Cab Calloway, and the Rhythms from the
Heart drum circle). Special surprise guest musicians. Hosted by Emcee I-Messiah (of
Free Spirit Entertainment and WPKN radio).

Food by Arizona Brown’s. Raffle prizes include gift certificates to Sage American Bar
