Greyglitch - Texas vs. Texas

**Warning, not mastered very well. Listen at a reasonable volume**

GreyGlitch hales from the mean streets of Lebonon, Conn. The devistated landscape is reflected in their music. But seriouslly... Greyglitch's sophomore album "Texas vs. Texas," great name, is an neat peice of glitch-electronic. Disjointed and abrasive, one finds them selves enveloped in a sphere of schizophrenic-mania. Utilizing distortion, delay, and circuit-bent Goodwill toys the band demonstrates a artiful control over chaos, something many experimental/noise artists lack. My only problem is the bands name "Greyglitch..." come on guys... lets try harder :). Nevertheless, their music is great, if you are into noisy electronics. Check them out---they'll blow your speakers a new one.

Review: Hubbell Mountain "Silent Pilot"

It has been a long, hard day, and I'm tempted to write this one off so I can proceed unabated with my two favorite hobbies: drinking gin and tonic and playing World of Warcraft.  Stop reading this crap, I should write, and go buy Hubbell Mountain's "Silent Pilot" EP. You'll like it. Trust me.

Coax Rhino - High Beams

"High Beams" is Coax Rhino's new single. The song reminds one of Enon--the video is... well... just watch it and you'll see. But the song is a neat disco/rock hybrid. With a high energy post-rock crescendo towards the end. Check these guys out

Highbeams by Coax Rhino

Don't Call It "Stoner" Rock: Weedeater Get Ready To Smoke Cherry Street

Hardcore punk and metal has been mixing for quite a while now, especially in the South, where an antagonistic, slowed down take on this mutant hybrid called sludge, has made quite a home in ol' Dixie. In fact, you can say it's one the region's biggest heavy musical exports.

Jayson Munro's "Meteor Tears" EP; A Sonic Mirror

I can't call myself a musical expert, not by any stretch of the imagination. I'm your Average Listener, merely moved by what I hear, unskilled in breaking it down to its bare components in my mind. It's a holistic and mystical experience for me, my disbelief is suspended and all I know is what I like and what I don't. With that disclaimer, I've really enjoyed Jayson Munro's new EP "Meteor Tears."

The Inclined Plane - The Backwards Frontier

One of the great subliminal arts is the long play album. The compounding variables can turn into an obsession for any well meaning artist. There are many different types of "sucessful" outcomes as well. The Inclined Plane have crafted an album that while comprised of many songs, feels like one large cohesive statement and experience. On The Backwards Frontier they craft a dreamy collection, similar in tone and style, while maintaining their original identities.

The Evil Abba? Ghost Haunt The Oakdale On April 10 with Mastodon and Opeth

A few years ago, a mysterious and shadowy entity emerged from the Pits Of Hell, by way of Sweden, and enraptured the ears of metal heads worldwide with their sweet, yet evil songs. This entity, known as the band Ghost, has since, their first public appearance, as well and release of their debut album "Opus Eponymous", grown in popularity garnering, not only the layman, but quite a few celebrity musician fans. While nobody really knows who is in the band (though there has been speculation elsewhere), because they appear at their public rituals cloaked in hoods, and lead by a mysterious lead singer, simply known as Papa Emeritus, who dresses like an undead Satanic pope.

Arc Agency shows for the month of April!

Here we are with part two of what The Arc Agency is up to!
Their first show of the month is coming up this Thursday at the American Legion in West Haven. It features two completely different tour packages and a couple of crucial locals. Daytrader, featuring ex-members of Crime in Stereo, are currently on tour with Pentimento from NY. On the other side of the punk spectrum, we have recent Deathwish signings Code Orange Kids (PA), whom Arc booked back in January, Birds in Row (France), who blew away nearly everyone who saw them at The Saddest Landscape release show last month, and Full of Hell (MD), whose split with COK will be out soon on Topshelf Records. To round off the lineup we have Night Owls, who released their debut EP "Dearly" last month, and hardcore weirdos Heavy Breath who are hard at work on their next record.

Doors at 5, show starts at 5:30. show up early, leave late. $10

Arc is doing a ticket giveaway from now until tomorrow evening. All you have to do is reblog/retweet/share the link to the facebook event. check out http://www.facebook.com/thearcagency for more information, or http://thearcagency.tumblr.com/ OR @thearcagency on Twitter for more details.

The next show is at The Space in Hamden, headlined by singer-songwriter Evan Weiss' project Into It/Over It. This is his first headlining tour, and the show's lineup is bolstered by some of the best young established and up-and-coming bands in Connecticut. First we have The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, a band with a name so long it makes Godspeed You! Black Emperor weep. Then there's the deceptively named Two Humans (there's three of them) from Glastonbury, teen internet blogging sensation/singer-songwriter Chris Cappello (of Lewis and His Blog fame) and the Balance and Composure-esque stylings of Hamden's Lifelines. CT's hungry young blood is very well represented on this gig, so come early and support some exciting new music.

Show starts at 7. $10
