Tweefort and Safety Meeting Records present La Strada and M.T. Bearington with The Fictional West.
Rudy's
372 Elm St
New Haven, CT
$4 21+ 9PM
The last time La Strada came through Connecticut was for a Shaki Presents show with Wooden Birds. I said something about them being folk gypsy pop. I think that still holds. They've since gained a little more notoriety, including having had their song Loved You All Along being featured in the fourth episode of the new HBO comedy Bored To Death.
Some more La Strada dates:
Feb 12 2010 8:00P Bell House (Brooklyn) w/ The Watson Twins + Hanne Hukkelberg
Mar 17-23 2010 8:00P SXSW Austin, TX
Mar 23 2010 8:00P Cosmic Charles Lexington, Kentucky
Sometimes CT Indie looks like an M.T. Bearington fan site since we're down with all things Bearington. February will be spent touring with Mates of State, which you can read about here. Check out Meg's review of The Cloak of Nouns and Loss. We've posted this newest video from Bearington a while back, but here it is again.
Tweefort Records has released The Fictional West's single Giant Clouds, which is like a post-rock version of Orange Juice. West's Christian Laursen isn't as over the top as Edwyn Collins, but his vocal style is very similar. You can download the single from Tweefort's page for FREE!
